Setting Our League’s 2014 Priorities

Update from the January 2014 Program Planning Meeting

Members at our Program Planning meeting recommended that our League address the issues of income inequality, voting rights, civic education in local schools and climate change.
Here’s what happens next:

  • The board will review the recommendations for issues to address in the upcoming year.
  • The board will bring its recommendations to members during the annual meeting in June.
  • Members will vote on the recommendations at the annual meeting.

TAKE ACTION: Are you interested in getting involved in these issues? Let us know! Our advocacy works depends on member participation — we really can’t do it without you. Contact our office atlwvsf@lwvsf.org or 415-989-8683.

Other Key Recommendations — At the Program Planning meeting, LWVSF members also voted for our League to make recommendations to the League of Women Voters of the United States (LWVUS). Members voted to recommend extending the LWVUS Agriculture Update study for one year. Members also voted to recommend that LWVUS accept the LWV New Jersey position on human trafficking.
