LWVSF Celebrates Women’s Equality at City Hall

The League of Women Voters of San Francisco celebrated Women’s Equality with local leaders at City Hall on August 26th, 2015.

Women’s Equality Day is a day proclaimed each year by the United States President to commemorate the granting of the vote to women throughout the country. Women in the United States were granted the right to vote on August 26, 1920, when the 19th Amendment to the United States Constitution was certified as law.

The San Francisco Commission on the Status of Women recognized the League of Women Voters of San Francisco  President, Board, and Members for our voter education, public policy advocacy, and civic engagement efforts on the occasion of Women‘s Equality Day.
