Join LWVSF in Bringing Awareness to Human Trafficking

Events this month will include the following events organized and presented by the San Francisco Coalition Against Human Trafficking (SFCAHT):

Kickoff News Conference and Modern-Day Abolitionist Award Ceremony will be held on January 12, 2016, 10:00am – 11:30am

at San Francisco’s City Hall, Room 408

Among the speakers will be Brian Stretch – Acting U.S. Attorney, Northern District of California; Supervisor Katy Tang; Ryan Spradlin, Special Agent in Charge, ICE Homeland Security Investigations (HIS); San Francisco District Attorney George Gascón.

They will be speaking about the priorities and commitments of leading agencies in combating human trafficking and support given to SFCAHT and local collaborative anti-trafficking efforts.

The Modern-Day Abolitionist Award Presentation will be made.


The month’s closing event and Teen Poster Contest Award Ceremony will be held February 11, 2016, 5:30pm-7:30pm in the Latino/Hispanic meeting room in the SF Main Public Library

This event will be youth focused to raise awareness and publicize youth involvement in the local anti-trafficking efforts; NCJW’s scholarships to at-risk and survivor youth will be presented at the event.   The winners of the teen poster contest encompassing schools in the entire Bay Area will be acknowledged.  Food will be provided.  San Francisco League of Women Voters will have a presence at the event and assist is publicizing it.
