The League prepares for the June 8th election

Most voters know very little about what’s at stake in the June 8th election this year. TV News and the newspapers are filled with gossipy information about the fight for the Republican nomination for Governor and for the U.S. Senate. But there are some important ballot measures coming along. How you vote on those may make more of a difference than how you cast your vote for candidates. You can find lots of information on these ballot measures at the state league site. Check out the  California League of Women Voters recommendations  about voting for Prop 15 California Fair Elections Act and against Prop 16 which would Impose new Voter Approval Requirement for Local Public Electricity Providers. The League has not taken positions on the other three issues.
